What is Occupational Therapy?
For a child, occupation means play, learning, and the everyday routines that build toward independence. When sensory processing, motor coordination, or emotional regulation makes those hard, that's where OT comes in. At Wondering Ways, that means looking at the whole child, not just the referral reason.
Understand
We build a full picture of your child's developmental profile before recommending anything.
Collaborate
Parents, teachers, and caregivers are part of the work, not just recipients of updates.
Thrive
Progress is measured by what matters to your child and your family, not a checklist.
Areas of Focus wb_sunny
Each area connects to how your child moves, plays, learns, and relates to the people around them.
Social Emotional Growth
Co-regulation, shared attention, and the capacity to stay connected even when things get hard. These are the skills that underpin everything else.
Learn moreSensory Processing
Understanding how your child takes in touch, sound, movement, and other sensory input, then building a plan that actually works in their daily environment.
Learn moreFine Motor Skills
Hand strength, grasp patterns, and the coordination that makes writing, cutting, and dressing feel less frustrating.
Learn moreActivities of Daily Living
Getting dressed, brushing teeth, managing mealtimes. The routines that should feel routine but often don't.
Learn morePraxis
The brain's ability to plan, sequence, and carry out new physical actions. It's also why many kids struggle on the playground or in gym class.
Learn moreExecutive Function
Flexible thinking, task initiation, and the social problem-solving that helps kids navigate their days. Built through play, not drills.
Learn moreVisual Motor Skills
The integration of what the eyes see with what the hands do. This shows up in handwriting, cutting, and catching a ball.
Learn moreMotor Coordination
Bilateral coordination, balance, and body awareness. Together they're the physical foundation that makes the playground feel less intimidating.

Meet Kaylen & The Team
Hi, I'm Kaylen. I started Wondering Ways because I kept seeing what happened when therapy centered the relationship first. Kids who'd shut down started initiating. Parents who felt lost started feeling confident. I'm an OT and a DIR/Floortime practitioner, and I work with clients from toddlerhood through early adulthood.
Sessions always include a parent component. Not just a brief hello, but real check-ins so what happens here translates to your home.

Joy
Mom to three kids (Kaylen worked with two of them)
"OT with Kaylen hasn't just helped our children--it has helped our entire family. We've been given tools, strategies, and confidence. We celebrate small victories that are actually very big. We've learned patience, flexibility, and the importance of meeting our child where they are. Our home has more calm, more joy and more connection."
